About Your Script for New Writing Sunday

We can only accept scripts submitted to us by mail. Please enclose a half-page synopsis, cast list, and a brief covering letter with full contact details and record of any previous performance or workshops relating to the piece (though please note that since we are dedicated to new writing we cannot consider any work that has already received a full professional production.) Please also include a stamped addressed envelope, with the correct postage for its return.

We will accept script submissions from all ages. We will also accept excerpts and works-in-progress, as well as short and full-length plays. Sketches, sit-coms and radio plays will also be considered. However, we will not accept hand written scripts, scripts submitted by email, musicals, pantomimes, film-scripts, novels or poetry.

We will endeavour to return your script within 3-6 months. If you are successful we will contact you to arrange a meeting. If you are not, we will return your script in the SAE provided. If you do not include a SAE with your submission your script will be recycled if not successful.

About Us

If you are intending to submit a script to New Writing Sunday, please make sure that our programme is right for you. As a strongly writer orientated initiative we would like you to work closely with the company, attending some rehearsals (there are usually no more than three) and taking part in preliminary and follow up meetings with the director in addition to the performance itself. While this is in no way intended to limit us to London based writers, we are unable to subsidise travel costs and the majority of our activities are focussed on the Clerkenwell Theatre. Casting will generally be from our regular pool of actors and scripts will always be directed by Ten in a Bed company members.

We especially welcome submissions from those who live in the EC1 postcode area.

Submissions should be addressed to:

Script Submissions, Ten In A Bed Theatre Company, 6 Parkgate, East Finchley, London N2 8DJ

All enquiries can be emailed to: info@teninabedtheatre.org
